Nathan Goldschmidt
Born in Heubach on January 16, 1868,
deported from Frankfurt / Main to Theresienstadt on August 19, 1942,
died in Theresienstadt on August 28, 1942.

Nathan Goldschmidt was born in Heubach on January 16, 1868, seventh of eleven children of the married couple Moses Goldschmidt and Karolina, née Katz.

He married Regine Strauß from Geroda near Bad Brückenau. Nathan Goldschmidt merchandized with cloth (manchester) and textiles. In 1934 the Goldschmidts sold their little house and moved to Bad Brückenau and then on to Fulda on March 2, 1937. On February 13, 1940 they moved to Frankfurt. Their last address was the retirement home Rechneigrabenstraße 18/20. Probably this was a so called “House of Jews” where people who were persecuted as Jews were gathered before they were deported from Frankfurt. On August 18, 1942, Nathan Goldschmidt was deported to the transit and concentration camp Theresienstadt at the age of seventy-four.

On May 28, 1942, Nathan Goldschmidt died in Theresienstadt nine days after his deportation.
