Sophie Jette Kahn, née Stern
Born on January 9, 1874, in Heubach,
on September 9, 1942, she was deported from Frankfurt / Main to Theresienstadt,
date of death April 4, 1943.

Sophie Jette Stern was born on January 9, 1874, fifth of the seven children of Lazarus Stern and his wife Sara, née Adler.

In 1904 she married the tradesman Julius Kahn. Her husband died only one year after their marriage.

Sophie Kahn attended the elementary school Heubach. Afterwards she made a professional education as a midwife. After the early death of her husband she took over his manufacture and notions store “Julius Kahn” in Heubach. In Oktober 1937, she and her daughter moved to Frankfurt.

While her daughter Bella managed to go into exile in the U.S., the planned emigration of Sophie Kahn failed. Related to the ninth big deportation from Frankfurt Sophie Kahn, at the age of sixty-eight, was deported to the transit and concentration camp Theresienstadt on September 15, 1942.

There she died about seven months later on April 5, 1943.
